The biggest difference is the Gonstead difference. Dr. Scott and Dr. Anna use the Gonstead System of analyzing and adjusting the spine which means they are very specific in finding your problem areas and in delivering precise adjustments. Absolutely. It can help because when you receive a chiropractic adjustment, nerve interference is removed which allows your body to function better. Simply put, it helps your immune system kick in so that your body can heal itself.
Chiropractic care will benefit almost everyone in some way, just as dental care will benefit almost everyone in some way. How you respond depends on how long you have dealt with your pain/symptoms, your lifestyle and your compliance to the care plan.
It is a small thrust applied to the body (misaligned vertebra) from the hands of a chiropractor. A typical appointment consists of using criteria of the Gonstead System explained further on the New Patient page.
Yes! It is best to have children checked for subluxations as early as possible. This will ensure that they are fulfilling their own potential to live and grow as healthy as they can. The birth process, no matter how natural, can affect an infant’s spine. Some studies suggest that colic, unusual crying, poor appetite, ear infection or erratic sleeping habits can be signs of spinal distress. Newborns also become subluxated in the same physical, emotional or chemical ways an adult does. An infant is also examined very carefully to determine if there is a subluxation and, if needed, receives a gentle Gonstead adjustment involving very little pressure
The Initial Consultation is available upon request at no cost and is usually 10-30 minutes long, depending on the complexity of the case. The individual completes an intake form regarding their health concern and the doctor then reviews it, discusses the case, discusses the chiropractic approach and also discusses if chiropractic care is right for the case. Upon request further discussion of office procedures or fees can be explained.
Results vary depending upon many factors. How long have you had the problem? Do you keep your appointments? Are you getting the proper rest, exercise and nutrition? Are you in otherwise good health? Since chiropractic care depends on the healing abilities of each patient, results can vary. Some detect changes in a few short days or weeks. Others discover the healing process can take weeks or months. However, within a short period of time, most patients sense enough progress to justify following through with our recommendations.
Insurance coverage can greatly limit your care by dictating what they’ll cover and when they’ll cover. They tend to overlook the lower cost and higher patient satisfaction enjoyed with chiropractic care. Furthermore, deductibles and co-pays have become so high, we’ve made our own cost-effective programs that are easy and affordable for just about anyone. Each of us has the freedom to place a different value on our health. Ultimately good health is about personal responsibility. While insurance companies may be helpful, be careful. Don’t allow a profit motivated company to make decisions about what you do with your health.
After patients get the relief they may choose to discontinue regular care or continue with wellness and prevention care. Many choose to continue with some type of periodic care so they can stay well. These chiropractic “checkups” can help support the final stages of healing and help detect and resolve new problems before they become serious. How long you continue to receive chiropractic care is up to you.
